Twill Weave Fabric
Twill weave fabric: The weave where the warp weave points (or weft weave points) continuously form diagonal lines is called the twill weave.
According to the direction of the grain, those from lower left to the upper right are right twill, denoted by ↗; those from lower right to the upper left are left twill, denoted by ↖.
Features of Twill Fabric
Compared with plain weave fabrics, twill weaves have fewer interweaving points in the weaving cycle, floating long threads, and greater density of the fabric (that is, compared to plain weaves, the density of warp and weft yarns can be greater for twill fabrics), and the fabric is soft. Good gloss, not as fast as plain weave.

Satin Weave Fabric
The interlacing of warp and weft occurs every four or more yarns, and these interlacing points are individual, discontinuous, and evenly distributed in a tissue cycle. The surface of the fabric has long floating lines in the warp or weft direction
Warp surface satin: there are more warp weave points than weft weave points. Or the front surface of the fabric presents the warp satin pattern which is mostly long.
Weft satin: There are more weft weave points than warp weave points. Or the front of the fabric presents a weft satin pattern with the majority of weft floats.
Satin fabric characteristics
The surface of the satin fabric is flat, smooth, and shiny. The front and back sides have different appearances, each showing a kind of yarn. Because a longer float can form a bright surface, it is easier to reflect light, especially when using bright filament yarn with a low twist, this effect is stronger.
Because the satin weave points are far apart, the individual weave points are covered by floating long lines on both sides, and there is no obvious interweaving point on the front, so it has the following characteristics:
① The long floats of warp or weft are easy to rub and fuzz and snag.
②The interweaving points of warp and weft yarns are the least, and the density that can be woven is the greatest. Satin fabric is thicker than plain weave and twill weave, soft texture, and good drape.
③The surface is smooth and even, full of luster.
Common types of satin fabrics
Wool fabric: the dress.
Cotton fabric: horizontal satin, straight satin.
Silk fabrics: plain crepe satin, brocade, soft satin.
